Creating Authority

This episode gives an update on my journey about creating authority and writing a book.

Listen to “Work Utopia & The Book On Podcasting” on Spreaker.

I changed my life with this podcast and I had a good understanding of what was happening to me when I was recording podcast episodes. Perhaps the number one thing that I learned was that you get what you focus on you. You get what you focus on. I was focusing on living a better life, a more positive life, a happier life. That is exactly what I got.

In July of 2017 I started a new show and business and became The Podcaster’s Coach. I was fresh off completing my second coaching certification (a more advanced program), and became a member of the ICF. I could not do what I was doing before – working in the recruiting and staffing industry. You will see that the first handful of episodes to this show is about recruiting and staffing. Slowly, as I created more podcasts, I spoke about the recruiting world less. I didn’t like what I was doing for a living, but I loved podcasting. I could not keep the two together. It didn’t work.

But, I kept the concept of the Work Utopia alive in my heart because that was what I wanted for myself, and you. But in order to have it, I had to change. You have to do the work to get it. It will not be handed to you. You can get it!

I became the Podcaster’s Coach and started a new podcast called The Podcaster’s Life, which will be called The Podcaster’s Happy Life in season 2. In a short amount of time, I created authority, all through the podcast. I assumed who I wanted to be, The Podcaster’s Coach, and my position, authority, and credibility rose with each published episode. It’s absolutely remarkable. If you want to re-invent yourself, all you have to do is start a podcast. Podcasting is a tool to help you change yourself. The tool of podcasting can do so much for you, which I will briefly explain.

The key to becoming someone new is 1 – start a new podcast assuming who it is you want to be 2 – Interviewing others and learn from them 3 – enjoy the thing that you are actually doing. I wanted to be the Podcaster’s Coach, Podcaster’s taught me, and I loved it. Do a podcast, connect and interview those who are like minded, and focus on what you enjoy. It’s as simple as that.
